SAINT TELLS THE STORY OF ASYLUM.
For Saint, music has always been an anchor in the storm. A source of calmness in the midst of chaos. Deportation letters, temporary refugee housings in the projects and hopeless meetings with social workers. Since the young Gambian artist/producer fled to Sweden as a teenage refugee seeking asylum, music has been the only constant in his life.
Teaming up with Rebstar and Swedish boutique label Today Is Vintage, Saint’s unforgettable verse on “Safe Safe” left many curious about the newcomer.
Fast forward to 2015, his debut single Chillin was recently released to critical acclaim and declared by Swedish Radio as one of Sweden’s best rap songs of 2015.
Fresh off his debut, Saint’s first body of work The New Funky Dread has been met with high praise and described by Noisey as some of the best hip hop they’ve heard in years.
Next up? Asylum.
